37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
Deputy Commissioner R K Bhat today inaugurated Digital India Week here at a meeting of District Officers and educationists.
The Deputy Commissioner while giving overview of the programme highlighted the importance of promoting e-governance saying it reduces the government-citizen gap. He called for observing the programme across the district, saying it was imperative to promote its awareness among the people, an official statement said. He said new generation has to be essentially computer literate in order to be relevant in the new development trend. For the purpose, he highlighted the need for popularizing computer education.
The District Informatics Officer dwelt in detail about the aims and objectives of Digital India programme.
