37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
The technological extravaganza of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Techfest 2015, is all set to kick off on July 14 with the ‘Internet For All’ initiative in partnership with the Nehru Science Centre. The initiative will involve IITians who are part of Techfest and will go to villages with internet connectivity with a bus that is equipped with meticulously designed content to train rural people on the use of internet through mobile phones and other gadgets.
Anurag Gupta, media manager, Techfest, said that it was inspired by the Digital India Programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and IIT- B has taken the responsibility of educating young India on digital literacy by launching the Digital Express.
