Social media connects robbery victims in posh Gurgaon

Salonie Chawla’s mom was at home on January 11 with her maid mopping the house, when two women rang the bell offering to work as household helps. They convinced the maid who was already working to leave and took her job immediately.

While the older of the two kept the lady of the house distracted, the younger one entered the bedroom to clean it, and fled with jewellery worth approximately Rs 8 lakh.

Chawla filed an FIR at Sushant Lok police station. A few days later, she saw a post on the Facebook community Gurgaon Moms, describing a similar robbery. Soon, there were more. Chawla connected with the other victims and realised the common thread in all the robberies was that there were two women involved in each. Together, the residents decided to bring the culprits to justice.
