37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
City police commissioner Amitesh Kumar took to social media to urge youngsters for their active participation in the police bandobast ahead of the New Year celebrations on Thursday morning.
Kumar sent out messages on social media, including WhatsApp, cautioning people against indulging in drunk driving. He said, “‘It is better to call for a driver than to call for an ambulance. Don’t drink and drive!”
He said, “We are planning to add the drive against drunk drivers in the set of existing responsibilities of all the night patrolling teams. Even the police station teams, the crime branch teams will have to do it starting from New Year.”
