Farmer suicides: National Human Rights Commission takes up cause of families denied compensation by government rule

The National Human Rights Commission has taken suo motu cognizance of a TOI report that said more than half of the families of farmers who committed suicide in the last four years in the state were not eligible to receive even Rs 1 lakh in compensation under government rules.
