37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has adjudged the Chennai Corporation as the best among all the government departments when it comes to e-governance.
The CII presented the award to the civic body during a seminar on Information Technology, conducted as part of the Connect 2014, on Monday. Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kapur received the award.
The award was presented to the corporation for the “efficient use of IT.”
“The e- governance initiatives of corporation provides a hassle-free system for public welfare services, improving the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of government services for citizens and businesses implemented with the help of information, communication and technology,” a statement from the CII said.
