37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
The common service centres (CSCs) were created in 2007 to take e-governance services to the rural Indian.
However, lack of e-governance initiative from States soon forced the service provider, Sahaj e-Village Ltd, to use the facility for online marketing activities and kiosk banking.
In a step ahead, the Srei associate company is now gearing-up to use its huge network of over 27,000 rural franchise operators in six States for physical retailing of a bouquet of consumables ranging from apparels to lights.
