Pune: Lack of playgrounds and electricity connections, inadequate teachers, no compound are some of the shortcomings found by NGO ‘Samarthan’ in the 97,000 primary schools in the state.A report of the facilities absent in state schools after five years of implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act has been submitted to the state government. The report also pointed out that the education department’s expenditure on schemes has gone down reduced marginally this year.Rupesh Kir, who compiled the report for ‘Samarthan’, said, “It is sad to see that even after five years of enforcement of the RTE Act, the situation has not changed much. School do not have electricity and the government speaks about ‘Make in India’.
