37% rural youth sans Internet access: Study
Outpatient tickets and drug prescriptions on paper will soon be things of past in government hospitals in Kerala as the state government launches its ambitious e-Health project which aims to create a centralised database of all citizens.
All a patient has to do is to get a token for the department he wants to go and wait for his turn to meet the doctor. The physician can call up the complete medical record of the patient by submitting the patient’s identification number. He will add details of the diagnosis as well as the prescription and directions for follow-up.
The project, aided by the central government, is expected to be rolled out in select primary health centres in six months.
