#NetNeutrality Alarmism over DoT Panel Report misleading – Niti Exclusive

With barely 24 hours ahead of the big launch of the Digital India week by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, #NetNeutrality activists are once again at it with a campaign to mislead and provoke based on half baked facts.

So what is the truth of this so called DoT Panel Report on “Net Neutrality” and the claims that are doing the rounds in Social Media ?

Team Niti Central has examined the relevant portions of the said report and below are the facts.

But before we get to that there is an important point to be made. Telecom Minister Ravishankar Prasad while speaking in Parliament had made it clear that the Government remained committed to ensuring the Internet was politically neutral. He was also categorical that the Government would make up its mind after it receives all inputs including from TRAI post its consultation.
