The fight for women’s empowerment is set to be infused with some colour in Ludhiana. Graffitis advocating women’s rights are coming up across the old, dusted public walls of the city, as part of the MC’s initiative to make Ludhiana the ‘Grafitti Capital of India’.
MC’s officiating commissioner, Ghanshyam Thori, said the theme of women’s empowerment had been selected for Samrala Chowk and the work had already been started there. It is not just women’s empowerment which will be used as a subject for the graffitis. “Paintings with various other themes are also cominng up. We are planning a wall of revolutionaries, which will have paintings of national and international revolutionaries,” Thori said.
